Applied AI PracticumThree horizontal bars, each brighter than the one above it, resolving into a solid letter P: three course units leading to practical, finished work.

Privacy and confidentiality

What happens to your information, and to your work.

Two separate questions. The first is about this website. The second matters more: this course runs on your live professional material, and you are entitled to know exactly how it is handled before you send any.

This website

What the site collects.

The enquiry form on the tuition page collects four things: your name, your email address, a short description of what you work on, and an optional funding deadline. Nothing else, and no field is pre-filled or inferred.

That submission comes to me, and is used for one purpose: to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to prepare a proposal. It is not added to a mailing list, not sold, and not shared with anyone for marketing. Enquiries are kept for twelve months and then deleted, unless you enrol, in which case they become part of the course record.

The site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics — no Google Analytics, no pixels, no session recording, no advertising tags.

There is a small amount of first-party JavaScript, served from this site, and it does three things: it opens and closes the session list on the curriculum page, it highlights your place in the contents list as you scroll, and it checks the enquiry form before it is sent. Every page works without it. It reads nothing about you, stores nothing, and sends nothing anywhere. The Schedule Builder on the tools page runs entirely in your browser and makes no network requests at all — whatever you type into it never leaves your machine.

Third parties involved in serving the site

  • Netlify hosts the site and processes form submissions. Like any web host, it records standard server logs including your IP address, and it stores form submissions until they are deleted.
  • That is the whole list. The two typefaces are served from this site rather than from a font CDN, so no third party sees your IP address when a page loads. There is no other external request of any kind.
No other third party receives anything

There is no CRM, no email marketing platform, no chat widget, and no externally hosted font, script or image.

During the course

Your professional material.

This is the part that should decide whether you enrol. The course is deliberately built on real work — Unit 1's source sets come from engagements you are being paid for, and the tool in Unit 3 solves a problem you actually have. That only works if the handling of that material is settled in advance rather than assumed.

If you work under a confidentiality obligation you are not certain covers this, the right move is to bring redacted or synthetic material to Unit 1. The methods are identical and nothing in the curriculum depends on the material being sensitive.

The commitments

  • Your material stays yours. Nothing you send is used for any purpose other than teaching you during your own sessions.
  • It is not reused. Not as a teaching example for another participant, not in marketing, not in a case study, not on this website — not even anonymised, unless you have given specific written permission for that particular item.
  • It is not shared. No subcontractors, no assistants, no other participants.
  • It is deleted on request, at any time, and in any case within 30 days of the course ending unless you ask for it to be retained.
  • A mutual NDA is available on request, at no cost, before you send anything. If your client contracts or your employer require particular terms, send them and they will be signed if they can be honoured.
  • Nothing is recorded without asking. Sessions are not recorded by default. If a recording would be useful to you, it is made only with your agreement and handed to you.

The awkward question

AI tools and your material.

A course about using AI tools on professional work cannot dodge this, so plainly: using these tools means sending material to Anthropic and Google. That is what the tools are. Session 11 exists precisely because deciding what may and may not be sent is a professional judgment you have to make and be able to defend.

You hold your own accounts

Your material goes into your Claude and NotebookLM workspaces under your agreements with those providers, not through mine. Tuition excludes subscriptions partly for this reason. Whose terms govern your client data should not be a side effect of who taught you.

You choose what goes in

Sessions 02 and 11 are spent on where these systems fail and where the line sits. If your conclusion is that a given client's material should never be submitted to a third-party model, that is a legitimate outcome of the course and the curriculum adapts around it.

The providers' terms are the providers' terms

Read them. Business and enterprise plans generally differ from consumer plans on training and retention. That reading is part of Session 11, not an afterthought.

Anyone selling AI training who tells you this question is simple is either not thinking about it or hoping you will not.

Your rights

Asking, correcting, deleting.

Email trevor@adventure-access.com and ask for a copy of anything held about you, a correction, or deletion. Requests are answered within 30 days and there is no charge. You do not need to give a reason, and asking will not affect your enrolment.

If you are in the UK or EU: the lawful bases relied on are your consent (the enquiry form) and the performance of a contract (delivering a course you have paid for). You may withdraw consent at any time, and you may complain to your national data protection authority.

The Applied AI Practicum is taught and run directly by Trevor Richtenburg, who is the person responsible for anything collected here. Questions about anything on this page should go to the address above, and will be answered by a person.
